QA/QC
PROCESS
By collaborating with utilities, we upload completed work into CubeIcon, enabling sample selection, audits, mapping, and reporting on one platform. Field teams use iPads for real-time updates, and CubeIcon integrates client work orders across programs, allowing filtering by division, time, project, and foreperson. The platform's map view improves project management.

When conducting an audit on completed work, the auditor will review and record the following observations
Trim Type Correct
Ensuring the appropriate trimming techniques were applied as specified in the contract.
Site Clean
Assessing whether the work site has been left in a clean and orderly state.
Clearance Achieved
Verifying that the necessary clearance around power lines and other structures has been attained.
Environmental BMPs Met
Checking that all environmental Best Management Practices (BMPs) have been followed.
ANSI Standards Met
Confirming that all work meets the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) guidelines for tree care.
Unit Closed Properly
Ensuring that each unit or section of the project is completed and documented correctly.
Real Time Work Management Solution
Our proprietary work management solution, CubeIcon, allows us to customize the audit fields to accurately reflect and record the contract requirements and specifications. This customization ensures that every aspect of the work is meticulously documented and aligned with client expectations. By leveraging CubeIcon, we can enhance the precision and efficiency of our QA/QC processes, providing comprehensive and reliable data for ongoing improvement and accountability.
Streamlined Processes
The General Foreman conducts monthly audits to ensure the quality and compliance of our work. Audit results are reviewed with the crew the day after the audit is completed to provide immediate feedback. This process includes positive reinforcement for well-executed tasks and identification of areas needing review or corrective action. If an audit is failed, additional audits are conducted on that crew to ensure improvements are made. Specific issues identified during audits are given focused attention, and data is queried to find and address similar scenarios across other projects. When trends are discovered, they are shared with the entire team at the yard to guide the workforce on both good practices and areas needing improvement. This approach ensures that audit findings are used to continuously enhance the quality of our work and maintain high standards across all projects.
AERI audits up to
10% of the completed work for each crew, utilizing various filters to capture a diverse range of crews, circuits, and prescriptions.
AERI leverages its extensive industry experience and cutting-edge technology to ensure efficiency and accuracy in the audit process. By capturing data electronically, we can thoroughly analyze and generate detailed reports, identifying trends in overall quality or specific crew performance. Our work management solution enables the system to reassign and generate rework orders for any locations requiring additional or corrective actions, all digitally tracked to ensure completion. If a crew fails an audit, an additional 5% sample is audited to confirm satisfactory performance.

We generate monthly reports for management and share these findings, along with mitigation steps, with our SMUD partners.
Additionally, AERI has access to two mobile LiDAR units that can be deployed on SMUD’s property. Our approach to QA/QC through technology can be customized to meet our joint goals with SMUD leadership. We welcome the opportunity to discuss this technology's application to the contract further, ensuring that our collaborative efforts lead to the highest standards of vegetation management and operational efficiency.
